| Note: | During the gothic and modernist periods in Europe, many buildings and cathedrals were built to mimic nature. The pillars like trees, the buttress like a canopy; one might even suggest that a stain glass window resembles the sky filtered through branches. People have suggested to me that this painting looks like stained glass; it is from a photo of some pine branches as seen from the ground. |
