A dynamic painting of a frog in mid-leap. I am Ojibway, my father’s heritage is from Ontario, but I grew up on the west coast and learned more about the west coast first nations than I have been able to of my father’s people. Within the west coast tribes, families are often associated with a crest. Although it varies from nation to nation on the west coast, the frog is often one of the main family crests. It is a special creature because it can go on land or in the water. It is quite adaptive to its environment. |
